Gyvlon
Anhydrite floor screed
'Gyvlon is an Anhydrite based binder for use in free flowing self compacting floor screeds. The main ingredient for Gyvlon comes from the waste produced by the chemical industry. In the past, this waste would have gone to landfill or disposed of by other environmentally unfriendly means.
Used as a direct replacement for the more traditional sand/cement screeds, Gyvlon offers a “greener” solution because, not only does it use a waste product, but it does not require cement. Also, because it is generally stronger than traditional sand/cement screeds, it offers design versatility, enabling better use of insulation materials which will enhance both the thermal and acoustic properties of the building. It performs particularly well with under floor heating systems.
Gyvlon binder based screeds are becoming increasingly more commonplace, with a growing following of developers and main contractors who have experienced the many benefits such screeds offer over traditional hand applied sand and cement. Employing modern user friendly construction techniques, this screed can be laid at least 10 times faster than semidry sand/cement screeds without the need for the operator having to revert to old fashioned, labour intensive laying procedures.'
