Livingwood Thermal Windows

'The timber thermal window is an inward-opening, tilt and/or turn type window with a single frame. It can be opened in two ways: it opens traditionally onto the side or tilts at the top for ventilation.

•  Practical tilt and/or turn functions combined in a single window;
•  Additional thermal insulation layer in timber profile;
•  Overall U-value 0.8 W/m²K;
•  Easy maintenance and cleaning;

The Livingwood Thermal window is made of special high-quality composite timber profiles with additional thermal insulation. The insulation material is added to the profile.

For achieving the best results in thermal windows we are using a triple glass sealed unit by Saint-Gobain, with choices of argon and an energy-saving spacer bars. It is possible to add complementary functions to a sealed unit according to the user's needs: safety, noise insulation, anti-solar glass etc.

The hinge system is made by GU Unijet, and the Hoppe handles, made in Finland, are used to get the best performance. Tilt-turn windows (open to the side) have a handle in the middle, based on the frame length.

Tilt only windows have a handle at the top. For window transom bars, we use tenon-jointed window bars (54 mm or 83 mm) glued to the window surface; window bars glued into a glass unit with spacers, or removable window bars.

If multiple sash's are combined into the same frame, it is possible to have a window without a post between (flying mullion). In that case, the passive frame will only open to the side and the active frame will open both to the side as well as tilt from the top.'
