Cellulose thermal insulation for wood-frame construction
Termex cellulose blown fibre insulation is suitable for timber frame, warm roof and cold roof insulation. It is manufactured from sustainable material (timber) and is recyclable. Termex breathes; the fibres react to moisture in the same way as the other timber parts of a building.

The manufacturing process is energy efficient using just one tenth of the energy used to make mineral wool fibres.
When the building lifecycle expires, Termex can be reused as insulation or as a soil conditioner.
THE ADVANTAGES OF CELLULOSE FIBRE INSULATION
Cellulose fibre is a natural alternative based on renewable resources and sustainable development. Termex cellulose fibre insulation has been type approved by the Finnish Ministry of the Environment for wall and roof insulation.
Blown and sprayed cellulose insulation has become increasingly popular in Europe and North America for the following reasons:
• Seamless and precise insulation
• The breathing capacity of the material and excellent user experience
• Natural and safe raw materials. The non-volatile boric minerals used to prevent fire and rot secure the excellent properties of cellulose fibre.
• Compares with mineral wool fibres for insulation value but at one tenth the energy consumption in manufacturing.
THERMAL INSULATION CAPACITY
Termex insulation materials have type approval from the VTT, The Technical Research Centre of Finland as having a thermal conductivity value of 0.041 W/mK (DIN). This excellent thermal insulation capacity is due to:
• Low air permeability
• Good moisture resistance and breathing capacity
• The porous structure of cellulose fibre
• Seamlessness
FIRE SAFETY
Tested and approved to EN 13823:2002 SBI method of determining fire properties for the use of material in buildings. In the walls, floor structures and flat roofs of buildings, Termex insulation materials can usually be used without restrictions. Boric minerals are used as the fire retardant. The properties of these minerals, together with the low air permeability of the insulation material, retard effectively the propagation of hot gases and flame which spread the fire. In testing to EN 13823:2002 the fire growth rate (FIGRA) was 420W/s and the smoke growth rate (SMOGRA) was 1’
