Medium density fibreboard (MDF)
'Medite Ecologique is an MDF panel with Zero added Formaldehyde, developed specifically for use in environmentally sensitive interior applications, where formaldehyde emissions need to be kept to a minimum.
No formaldehyde is added to the softwood fibres in the manufacture of Medite Ecologique. The resultant product far exceeds the rigid Class E1 (EN 622-1) low formaldehyde standard. Although formaldehyde is found naturally in wood, and no wood product can be entirely formaldehyde free, independent tests have shown that the free formaldehyde content of Medite Ecologique is less than 1.0mg/100g (equivalent or less than natural wood). The formaldehyde emissions from Medite Ecologique are well below general ambient outdoor levels.
Otherwise, it has all the basic features – stability, mirror- smooth surfaces ideal for veneering, painting or laminating, excellent screw-holding, and smooth machining and profiling with no breakout or splintering of edges – which characterises all types of Medite MDF.
FSC certified, Medite Ecologique provides Green specifiers with a largely benign material which has all the creative advantages of one of today's most versatile construction materials; MDF.'
