Interpane 'iplus E' glazing
Low emissivity glazing
'iplus double glazing units have two features, which work together to reduce heat loss:
• a micro layer of silver and bismuth on the inside surface of the glass;
• a filling of an inert gas, normally Argon, unlike an ordinary double glazing unit which has air in the space between the layers of glass.
With the new highly selective Low-E coating iplus E, we have made use of our entire know-how to make a good product better. The combination of low heat-insulating values (Ug= 1.1 W/m2K; all Ug values according EN 673), a transmittance factor of 80 % and a solar energy gain (g-value) of 60 %, according to EN, convinces everybody. iplus E warm glass offers energy-efficient solutions for every job.
In the 1980s the Ug value was around 3.0 W/m2K; today Interpane thermal insulating glass reaches Ug values as low as 0.5 to 1.4 W/m2K. It is possible with iplus, to plan expansive glass surfaces that take account not only of economic and ecological criteria but also of aesthetic criteria - without being guilty of wasting energy.
Working together, the silver coating and gas fill in Iplus units dramatically reduces overall heat loss through the unit, saving energy, saving the environment and leading to more comfortable homes.'
