Ecoscreed
Flooring screed with recycled glass content
'Ecoscreed Limited provides high performance flowing screeds, levelling compounds and tile adhesives to the UK construction industry. The company can offer a total “green” specification for any flooring contract. The “ECOSCREEDS” contain up to 65% recycled bottle and container glass.
Each tonne of discarded container and bottle glass in the UK requires 4.0 cubic metres of land-fill space that will not decompose. Our products use 1.2 tonnes of recycled glass per cubic metre applied.
Specify “ECOSCREED” and save 4.8 cubic metres of land-fill for every 1 cubic metre of screed applied.
The Building Research Establishment (BRE) maintains that 39% of the “eco-points” in a building are derived from the floor construction and that 1 “eco-point” could be saved for every 1.38 tonnes of sand not quarried and for every 1.3 tonnes of glass not going to land-fill.
1 m3 ECOSCREED = 4.8 m3 Landfill SAVED!
1 m3 ECOSCREED = 2 Eco-Points SAVED!
The ECOSCREED STANDARD and ECOSCREED RAPID each use up to 100kg of recycled glass per square metre at 50mm thickness. The ECOSCREEDS use recycled bottle and container glass entirely derived from UK glass collections that would otherwise go to land-fill sites. The glass is fully recycled, crushed, graded, sieved and washed to provide an ideal “eco-sand” aggregate for our screeds.'
