Charcon EcoKerb
Concrete kerb with recycled content
'Charcon EcoKerb is used for the hard landscaping of commercial areas, towns and cityscapes.The material strongly resembles natural granite kerbs. The kerb is designed to work with in harmony with the Eco Flag and block paving products, and is available in both a standard and a wide-top format.
EcoKerb optimises manufacturing processes and minimises usage of raw materials through substitution of secondary aggregates, to produce hard landscaping with excellent sustainability credentials. Its natural rough-hewn appearance allows it to blend in especially well with traditional and conservation environments.
The product mixes for Charcon’s Eco Range seek to utilise the most sustainable resources. The following materials have been selected to maximise resource productivity:
Copper slag
This is a by-product from copper smelting. It is used to create the decorative finish of the product instead of virgin aggregate material.
China clay stent
A by-product of the china clay industry used as an aggregate instead of quarrying virgin materials.
Water
Water used in the manufacturing process is recycled.'
