Ecobond wall tiles
Moulded wall tiles from recycled materials
The Ecobond wall tile is made from secondary aggregates and process by-products, traditionally regarded as waste and other waste materials capable of being bonded with binders. The process Carbon Footprint is 80% less than conventional tile manufacture.
Ecobond wall tiles can be through-coloured and are UV resistant. Impact resistance is more than twice that of ceramic tiles and they have passed frost tests, chemical resistance and abrasion testing.
The tiles are produced using aqueous based resins – no ureas or isocyanates and the resin is approved for use in food chain packaging. Tiles have been produced using mica, slate dust, marble, granite, kiln sand, copper slag, glass and cementatious tank cleansers. Desert sand from Dubai has also been turned into tiles.
The process has no effluent or wastes and any rejects are recycled. End of life product can be recycled into tiles.
