Durisol
Hollow-core, recycled wood block as permanent formwork
'Made from recycled timber but then treated so that it does not rot or burn, Durisol walling units have integral mineral wool insulation giving a 0.19 U value without additional insulation.
The Durisol product offers significant benefits over traditional construction, including: faster build times, thermal mass benefits, dry stacked (no mortar required), excellent acoustic properties and finishes that can be applied directly to the surface. Overall it’s cheaper and easier to build with. It is proven up to 26 storeys and the product is particularly advantageous for use with render as it provides a breathable building.
The acoustic benefits together with U values and speed of build, have made Durisol particularly popular as the choice of method of construction of schools, low cost housing, flats, student accommodation and buildings in the health sector.
In addition, any waste product from the construction process can be returned to the factory for recycling thus reducing land fill.
