The following timber traders stock timber from FSC-certified forests.
Please check that the timber you require is fully covered by a Chain of
Custody certificate and ask for the identification code eg SA-COC-1022
or SGS-CoC-0005, for proof of a valid certificate. This code should be
given on all invoices and delivery notes clearly showing which are the
FSC products.
The location of suppliers is given; but please note that most deal with
customers all over the UK and beyond. Remember that transportation increases
embodied energy.
It may be possible to get a timber merchant to order FSC timber for you (or an uncertified timber merchant may be offering packs of ready labelled FSC timber). If you are specifying timber for a building which you want to say uses FSC timber, please refer to the Chain of Custody fact sheet or call the FSC for more details.
