• The key elements of thermal design in all of the standards is the adoption of detailing which is effectively thermal bridge-free and defaults to low air permeability. • This document gives guidance based on achieving standards associated with the Carbon Lite 'Silver' Standard / CSH Level 4. • Applying the principles detailed to all fabric elements - walls, floors, roof, etc - and key junctions between elements will significantly reduce a building's overall energy use and CO2 emissions. • Guidance is provided for both masonry and timber frame buildings. |
